Friday Favorites 9.23.11

Happy Friday, autumn leaves!

Even though it's the first day of fall, this Friday Favorites is all about Spring 2012 Fashion Week(s).
I've collected my favorite looks from New York, London, and early Milan shows and then grouped them together so it wouldn't be a big confusing mess...

Favorite Spring Feeling:  Mod Party
I love Fall fashion because everything's dark and cozy, but spring fashion (in my head) is the total opposite. It's fun and whimsical. It's a rooftop garden party in Milan in 1963.
1. Alice + Olivia, 2. Milly, 3. Blugirl

Favorite Classic Spring: Stripes
In my opinion, stripes are always in. There's something about perfectly straight lines that says polished and well put together. To make them modern, pair different stripes together or contrast them with an unusually shaped top/bottom.
1. Burberry, 2. Fendi, 3. Marc by Marc Jacobs

Favorite Fun: Prints
Strong, bold prints work well on their own and even better together.
1. Cynthia Rowley, 2. Richard Chai LOVE, 3. Carolina Herrera, 4. Rachel Zoe

Favorite Continuing Trend: Illusions
I love the illusion of covering up while simultaneously showing skin. This ties in with the laser cut outs and crocheted fabric winding their ways through collections, too. Keep a classic shape for extra wow factor.
1. Cynthia Rowley, 2. Narciso Rodriguez, 3. Vera Wang, 4. Lela Rose, 5. Zac Posen, 6. Ermanno Scervino

Favorite Envy: Clean Sophistication
Minimalism is in; a look I don't usually enjoy. But the trick to doing minimalist without being boring is to punch up a simple, beautiful piece with something fancy and unexpected. And fit has to be impeccable.

1. DVF, 2. Ermanno Scervino, 3. N°21, 4. Jason Wu, 5. Marc by Marc Jacobs, 6. Christian Siriano

Favorite Fantasy:
If you get the reference we're clearly friends.

1. Marc Jacobs, 2. Victoria by Victoria Beckham
We still have a few shows left in Milan and then it's on to Paris, so I'm sure I'll have more favorite looks in the next few weeks.

What were some of your favorite looks?
