Friday Favorites 07.13.12

Happy Friday the 13th, readers!  Hope you've been staying away from black cats and perilously placed ladders.

I have some things sure to spook and delight:

FAVORITE SCARY TURNED AWESOME:
The Dementors in Harry Potter were just plain frightening.  But somehow thinking they say nomnomnom makes me welcome their kiss with a smile.

FAVORITE SHOT:
There's something eerily dark about one of the best rides at the carnival in this photo.

FAVORITE WANDERLUST:
This old railway in Tennessee gets major spook factor from the mist of the mountains and the overgrowth of bygone neglect. I like to think ghosts frequent the rails, following foggy trails in the woods.

FAVORITE STRUCTURE:
Think black cats would like to live in the Nagano House in Japan?  Sleek and modern, set against the stark white of winter, this house evokes chills up my spine with equal parts of love.

FAVORITE STYLE:
Keeping with black and white is classic. Pairing black with brown is often frowned upon, but this addition of gray and gold makes all the neutrals work together in harmony.
